Is it too late to seed tomatoes 9a Texas

Texas has a unique climate for gardening. The last frost tends to be Feb 1st.  So, starting your tomatoes as late as May 3rd, would likely give you a chance at a harvest.  Remember you can plant your tomatoes around 8 weeks old (or later) outside, if they've been hardened off, and the frost is no longer a threat.  So, in Texas you are likely sowing seeds indoors December-February.

How to Sow Tomato Seeds

The secret to tomato seeds germinating at a high rate, is something I discovered when opening a seed co.  Start your seed tray as normal but don't put it on a heat mat for two days.  Make sure to use a cover when you move it over so that the heat stays in.  I've gotten a better germination rate this way.
