(95 days) 8-9 inches of sweet corn. Popular for 169 plus years now...So the story goes, Nathaniel Newman Stowell developed this tasty corn, for himself, by crossing Menomony Soft Corn and Northern Sugar Corn, in 1848. A friend of his bought 2 ears of seed corn from him for $4 on the contingency he wouldn't share the seed. His "friend" immediately sold the seed to Thoburn and Company, in 1855, for $20,000 which they grew out and sold the following year to their customers.
